Nakuru town residents

Nakuru residents claim that leaders transport the same people from one public participation meeting to another.

They added that the move has blocked people in some areas. The residents need civic education before conducting public participation.

" Oil prices have gone up. What about adding BBI positions on top, " Kimani Mbugua said in Nakuru.

" The participants are transported and funded by some leaders. They are taken to Naivasha, Nakuru town hall to Subukia. How can that be public participation? " he added.

" They are transporting Pro-BBI supporters from one public participation meeting to another. But we will have our say on referendum, " he paused.

" Some people have been blocked. They say due to the virus pandemic the number is limited. They block the natives of the area and continue with the ones they transported, " he added.

Baringo KANU MCAs went to court claiming that there was no public participation.

However, the locals accuse the said MCAS of transporting people from one end to another during the normal finance bill public participation meetings within the county.
