Raila Odinga heads to the United Kingdom for a series of events, including attending Wednesday's English Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium between Arsenal and Liverpool.

On Sunday, the frontrunner to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 2022 polls flew from Nairobi to London.

The former Gatanga MP and possible running mate Peter Kenneth Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega) accompanied Raila in London.

Siaya Senator James Orengo and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed also accompanied him.

Odinga’s advisor on international affairs, diaspora engagement and policies Mr Ben Agina was also on the trip.

Mr Odinga will travel on Sunday night for a visit in which he will see senior UK government officials, give speeches, and meet Kenyans residing in the UK, according to Dennis Onsarigo, the Raila Odinga 2022 presidential campaign secretariat's press secretary.

"Mzee (Mr Odinga) will deliver a speech on African democracy. The Public is aware of his democratic credentials, and he is also interested in governance," Mr Onsarigo added.
