Safaricom bundles for all customers

Customers will get up to 100 percent more data on their preferred daily, weekly, monthly, and select all-in-one plans thanks to a revision of Safaricom's data plans.

Customers on both postpay and prepay plans will be able to explore more at no additional cost.

The decision to provide customers with more value comes in response to the current economic climate, which has seen the cost of living rise.

The KES 20 daily plan has been increased to 100MB from 50MB; the KES 99 weekly plan has been increased to 500MB from 350MB; and the KES 1000 monthly plan has been upgraded to 7GB from 5GB.

"Kenya's economy has showed remarkable resilience in the face of massive shocks during the last two years."

"At Safaricom, we recognise the additional financial strain that our customers have had to bear, and we are committed to developing solutions that give a cushion while allowing them to enjoy the revolutionary power of the internet," said Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC.

Safaricom has actively supported Kenyans in a variety of ways, including doubling fibre speeds as remote learning and working became more common, partnering with various learning institutions to provide discounted data, zero-rating M-PESA transactions and increasing M-PESA wallet limits, and enabling MSMEs through Pochi la Biashara.

The new data plans build on the success of the Mwelekeo Ni Internet campaign, which was launched in November last year to highlight the internet's transformative power, offer data deals, and allow people to purchase affordable 4G handsets through the Lipa Mdogo Mdogo device financing plan.

Customers can get access by dialling *544# or using the MySafaricom app.
