Manchester City has won each of its past five FA Cup games. In nine of their past ten FA Cup matches Manchester City is undefeated.

In their last five FA Cup games, Manchester City has been successful in maintaining a clean sheet. Manchester City has won three consecutive FA Cup games at halftime and at the end of regulation.

In their past seven consecutive F matches, Manchester United has not lost.

A Manchester derby in the FA Cup pits the outsiders against their closest rivals, who are vying for a triple, and the underdogs are hoping for a turning moment.

2023 is still a few years away, but in 2011, Manchester City is searching for the clearest indication yet that they are capable of meeting the high standard that Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United have established.

The disparity still exists even though United's best moment occurred the same year the Blues pulled off an incredible escape from the third tier. United has been unmatched in the city for generations.

Joleon Lescott moved from Everton to Manchester City in 2009 to try and win titles, but he had previously experienced six defeats against United, including a heartbreaking 96th-minute winner from Michael Owen in a 4-3 match at Old Trafford.

Even though Roberto Mancini's team knew they were playing the current English football superpower as second favourites, confidence had increased.

After a scoreless first half, Yaya Toure scored to advance City to the championship game, where they defeated Stoke 1-0 to earn their first trophy in 35 years.

The Blues surged to victory when the loathed flag in the Stretford End was taken down. It was significant for the club and is now seen as a turning point in City and United's histories, but it was also significant for the players.

Lescott believed that as he began winning trophies, Everton supporters began to see him differently, much as medals continue to defend Jack Grealish and others for switching teams.

He told the Manchester Evening News, "Knowing you were beating the favourite team gave us comfort going into the final." " Beating United is always going to be significant, and that was a top-tier United squad with elite players and their best manager ever.

"Beating City right now with Pep [Guardiola] and this set of players is the equal of that. It's a significant accomplishment, and we were prepared for the pressure, expectations, and enthusiasm that come with it.

"I just overheard Jack discussing this. Growing up, I never had the desire to win the Premier League since it didn't exist.

"However, I always wanted to play in the FA Cup final and win it because everyone is involved in it."

"Every professional participates in the FA Cup at some point; therefore, there is romanticism around it. It undoubtedly increased awareness of our reasons for joining the group.

"We were aware of our motivations, but the competition was the sole reason we entered since it fits all of our goals. It silenced many individuals who questioned our decision to join."

KBC is yet to confirm airing the FA Cup finals live in Kenya.
