Court stops plan to send 1000 police officers to Haiti by President Ruto

President William Ruto’s deployment of police officers to Haiti is stopped by the court. On October 24 of last year, Judge Chacha Mwita renewed orders prohibiting policemen’s deployment.

The National Security Council is not allowed to send national police officers to Haiti or any other nation, according to the High Court.

On October 24, of last year, Judge Chacha Mwita issued an order halting the officers’ deployment to Haiti for a peacekeeping assignment while the case of Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot was being adjudicated.

In an attempt to stop the peacekeeping operation that would send at least 1,000 police officers to the country rife with gang activity, Aukot filed a lawsuit against President William Ruto and his government.
