Over the weekend, renowned televangelist Benny Hinn held a two-day crusade at Nyayo Stadium in Kenya, which saw the attendance of the country’s President William Ruto, and his wife Rachel.
During the event, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre church made a significant donation of Kenyan shillings (14.6 million) to cover the bills incurred by Pastor Benny Hinn.
A video circulating online shows Benny Hinn fundraising for the event when Ezekiel offered an impressive amount of 100,000 USD to help cover the costs.
Benny Hinn expressed his gratitude towards Pastor Ezekiel, saying, “God bless that man. I can tell you, I did not want to go back to the United States knowing that this man and the committee had a burden.”.
However, Pastor Ezekiel’s generous act has sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans online, with some lauding him for his kindness while others question why such a significant amount of money is being donated to foreign pastors.
During the crusade, President Ruto’s first daughter was also in attendance, and she requested that Benny Hinn pray for her to find a husband.
This comes after a recent video of Neno Evangelism Centre founder Pastor James Ng’ang’a showing millions to his congregation, which has led to a growing call by citizens to impose taxes on churches in Kenya.
