Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi

A fake fertiliser scandal led to the arrest of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi. Detectives are also pursuing his principal secretary, Paul Ronoh, for arrest and prosecution.

The DPP has ordered the immediate arrest of CS Mithika Linturi and PS Paul Ronoh over the alleged fake fertiliser saga.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) recommended CS Linturi and his principal secretary, Paul Ronoh, for arrest and charges related to the fake fertiliser scandal.

The National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) summoned these two and the other five senior officials, but they reportedly failed to show up on Friday as required.

This comes a day after Members of Parliament (MPs) approved an impeachment motion against him.

A total of 149 members of parliament (MPs) voted on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in support of removing Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mithika Linturi from office.

During the Thursday morning session, 149 MPs voted in support of Linturi’s impeachment, 36 opposed, and three abstained.

As a result, we will form an 11-member committee to investigate the issue and submit a report within ten days.

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka filed the impeachment motion in an attempt to remove Linturi for egregious misconduct and constitutional violations.
