Six people fled from St Mary’s Mabera Secondary School, a Covid-19 isolation centre in Migori county.

Migori county executive Oscar Oluoch confirmed saying they have already begun the process of pursuing them.

“We are checking on their contacts and have them taken back, together with their fresh contacts,” Oluoch said.

Anxiety hit the centre after three people had tested positive.

“The three people who tested positive on Tuesday were in a room, which has never been fumigated and we are forced to sleep there,” a patient said.

Patients complained of overcrowding, no fumigation in rooms, no sanitisation and no protective gears.

“The government said we were to be given food, but there is no food and nobody is willing to sell us food,” a patient said.

” Are placed here to die or being quarantined for coronavirus, ” the patient added.

The institution is manned only by two watchmen and two police officers
