Despite the Blues acquisition not yet been finalized, Roman Abramovich is alleged to have initiated talks with a new football club in Europe after placing Chelsea up for sale.
After being slapped under tough sanctions by the UK government, the Russian magnate was compelled to liquidate his stake in Stamford Bridge, and he hasn’t squandered any time hunting for new opportunities.
After a tremendously successful couple of decades, the 55-year-old millionaire put Chelsea up for sale with a heavy heart, and he could be preparing to turn his enthusiasm into Turkish club Goztepe.

Talks between retiring Goztepe president Mehmet Sepil and Abramovich’s representatives have already commenced, according to Turkish news outlet Fanatik.
Sepil officially declared that he would be stepping down as president, but that he would continue to serve in other capacities until a successor could be found.
According to the report, the Super Lig outfit had their eyes on the former Chelsea boss as a result of recent events, and both parties had made market evaluations.

With Sepil controlling the majority of club shares, Abramovich, an intermediary businessman, Sepil, and club executives are alleged to be preparing a face-to-face encounter in the coming days.
Although Abramovich wasn’t planning on retiring from football after his Chelsea exit, Goztepe wasn’t the most apparent choice.
Goztepe was founded in 1925 and last played in the third division in 2009. They play at the Gursel Aksel Stadium, which has a capacity of 20,040 people.
Despite their strong fan base, Goztepe hasn’t won the first division or the Turkish Cup since 1950.
Not only have they underperformed recently, but Goztepe are also in severe danger of eviction to the second tier, with eight games remaining and eight points separating them from safety.
Goztepe have lost seven league consecutive matches, despite Super Lig powers Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and, most importantly, Galatasaray having poor home performances.
Stjepan Tomas, a former Croatian international, is Goztepe’s headcoach, the team’s fourth since the commencement of 2021.
Abramovich’s comeback with Goztepe striker Franco Di Santo, who played for Chelsea between 2008 and 2010, could be in the cards.
According to Business Insider, Abramovich’s net wealth has dropped to £10.21 billion in recent months, which is still quite enough to assume control of a football club, with talks over Chelsea’s future underway.
