Former Harambee Stars captain Zablon Amanaka dies mysteriously at his Mwiki home.
The centre back who also served as Harambee Stars captain during his primetime was found dead in his house in the Maji Mazuri area on Friday, May 28.
His death has shaken the Kenyan football community with eulogies streaming in.
Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Sofafapaka is among the first clubs to eulogise to the Harambee stars defender.
In its condolence message, the club has recollected how he was gifted and enthusiastic about football.
“Our deepest condolences to family and friends of the late Zablon Amanaka. During his stay at the club, Amanaka served us diligently and passionately, indeed the sporting fraternity has lost a true icon,” the club wrote on social media.
Amanaka also featured before retiring from the sport include Tusker (formerly Kenya Breweries), Thika United, AFC Leopards and Mahakama.
