Dr Alfred Mutua launches bid for the top seat ahead of the 2022 polls. Mutua revealed that his government will have numerous activities and plans for grassroots citizens.

The 2022 presidential hopeful under Maendeleo Chap Chap assured loans of between Sh500,000 and Sh1 million for every newlywed couple as gifts from his government.

Mutua said the loan will be repayable for up to 20 years at a rate of 0.5 percent interest. Mutua explained when he started his presidential manifesto on Sunday.

“Newlyweds will receive an initial capital from my government of Ksh.500,000 to Ksh.1 Million in kind, payable over 20 years at an interest rate of 0.5 percent as a gift from the government to invest in their new home and entrench the family institution,” he stated.

The ‘gift,’ according to Dr Mutua, is designed to enhance living conditions.

“What is the effect of all this? Dignity for all of us, improvement of the living standards and quality of homes countrywide and no more mud houses,” said Mutua.

Mutua also declared that his government will invest heavily in youth improvement by creating a conducive business environment.

His government will create 5 million jobs in the first three years.

Companies that hire more than 10 youth in entry-level positions will receive a 5% tax break, while youth-owned businesses will receive a 50% tax break, according to Mutua.

He added that all towns will have public swimming pools to teach citizens how to swim to avert aquatic calamities.

He was referring to the Mwingi accident where people drowned for lack of swimming knowledge.
