Drama and fist-fights conquers the Bomet county assembly during the election of a county speaker after Embomos Mca Robert Serbai grasped the mace and tried to escape.

The Drama occurred immediately after the acting Speaker Wesley Kiprotich announced the Winner.

Nairobi Lawyer Mr Nelson Mutai garnered more votes beating six candidates in the race.

Serbai action was stopped by the sergeant art arms and he was kicked-out of the chambers.

“For how long will Konoin be sidelined in this county? The position of the county secretary and that of the executive committee member for agriculture which were previously held by persons from the area have all been taken to other sub counties,” Serbai said.

“We never got justice at all because some external forces influenced this, which tells you the county assembly is no longer independent,” he added.

Mutai got 27 votes while his ally Wilfred Lesan got 0 votes.

Others include; Cheruiyot Tamogei (1), Cherotich Joan (2), Edwin Sitienei (2) and Weldon Chirchir (3).

Lawyer Mutai is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya at Kandie Mutai and co. advocates.
