Hundreds of women converge at Lugwe primary school in Rabai constituency, Kilifi county during this year’s international women’s day.
Kilifi women leaders gather in Rabai accompanied by Lands CAS Gideon Mung’aro, Magarini legislature Michael Kingi and Kaloleni counterpart Paul Katana.
They gathered to celebrate the milestones that the county has established especially in gender equality.
The county government of Kilifi has equal gender workforce.
Speaking at the meeting Hon. Ema Mbura applauded the county for formulating gender equality. She criticized the county being sluggish on implementing Agricultural activities.
” Many women suffer because 30% of tenders do not reach them. The county fails to embrace Agricultural activities that could help women in the county. We urge the governor to make sure those rigs are being used. Small irrigation schemes are what will grow this county, ” she said.
” The Government is committed to establishing local lands offices that will help everyone acquire ownership. We are also looking forward to establishing mechanisms that will help squatters get permanent land. There is a cry about ranches that community ranches have been transformed into private ranches and being auctioned by the fake owners. We are looking into that., ” the lands CAS Gideon Maitha Mung’aro said.
