Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina says the President didn’t follow the required protocol and appointed his Kin as Chief of Defense Forces.

The lamentations comes after the President appointment of Major General Robert Kariuki Kibochi.

General Robert Kariuki Kibochi who was the Vice Chief the Defence Forces was promoted in military changes announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday evening

“Even KDF is tribal? This is a truly a messed up country. The most qualified Military man to succeed Gen. Mwathathe was Lieutenant General Walter Koipaton Raria,” he said.

“But just because he is Maasai he is left out and a staff Deputy is appointed! Very unfortunate,” he added.

However, the Senator added that it was very annoying seeing the President is just appointing his members since the beggining of the year.

“This is so annoying, the statehouse need to be serious. How on earth do you appoint a staff to be the Major General?, ” he asked.

“You promoted Lieutenant Raria to Commander of the Kenya Army from Deputy Commander of the Kenya Army. And now you bypass him and appoint a junior to Major General?,” he lamented.
