LSK President Nelson Havi criticises the move at which the Judiciary service Commission has already kick-started the recruitment of the next Chief Justice as plans to eject David Maraga underway.
LSK President Havi says CJ David Maraga has to complete his term before any move of recruiting his successor.
However, several months before his retirement, some JSC members have already begun planning on how to eject him.
” While the concerns are genuine, I am apprehensive that this antagonistic approach undermines intra-institutional comity and courtesy which the JSC is duty-bound to preserve and project (externally). Also, it works to deny the incoming CJ the legitimacy and support ahead of 2022,” Lawyer Steve Ogolla said.

However, according to a letter from JSC, there is an existing battle of pending judges appointments by the President.
“Mr Macharia Njeru why haven’t you addressed yourself eloquently on the pending appointments of 40Judges by the President. Do you fear the deep state?, ” Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen asked.
