Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa released after being arrested for slapping a contractor

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has been arrested and later released. 

Barasa was arrested by police officers at the dawn of Monday, August 2, 2021 at his Kimilili home over assault allegations.

While verifying his arrest, Kimilili OCPD Lawrence Marao, said that the Kimilili MP was arrested and would be charged with assault and causing grievous harm. He was later released on a sh 100,00 bail.

This comes after a video of him claimed of slapping a contractor following a difference emerged online.

“Yes, he has been arrested. He is expected to be arraigned this morning for plea taking,” Marao said.
