Kenya Revenue Authority workers are demonstrating against what they see as inadequate pay and excessive housing costs.
The KRA staff at the taxman’s Times Tower offices are reportedly protesting over what they describe as inadequate pay and working conditions, according to an article that ran in a local newspaper on Monday, November 13, 2023.
Additionally, they claim that the overwhelming desire for greater revenue objectives has made these difficulties worse.
According to the publication, “the Times Tower employees are staging a protest over what they claim are poor working conditions and poor pay while facing mounting pressure for higher taxes.”
The newspaper story went on to say that the Kenya Revenue Authority board of directors decision, which resulted in an almost 100% rise in rent for KRA-owned homes, is also being opposed by the staff of the organization.
