Livestock and human suffering in Kilifi and Mombasa due to lack of water.

Water and sewerage companies (Wasco) in Kilifi, and Mombasa have failed their duties of providing essential services to the respective counties.

Water, services and regulation board (Wasreb) said that WASCO has a debt to them.This debt was at a high rate due to an increase of water supply in most areas that didn’t have the piping system.

The WASREB company at Baricho had a breakdown  and even they were upgrading their machines due to the water demand.

President Kenyatta opens a largest water reservoir in the area and that will serve major areas that did not have water supplying systems. Some areas that did not have the pipes installed in the colonial period and now they will be connected are Mtwapa, Vipingo and Nyali.

The companies issued a notice that the next 3 weeks those counties will not be supplied with water.
