MCAs wants county ministers (CECs) appointments or oppose BBI at the county assemblies
Members of County Assemblies wants the Building Bridges Initiative amended to recommend that they qualify for County Executive Committee heads appointments.
They want a proposal comparable to that authorising the President to appoint MPs to Cabinet introduced in the provisions in the Constitution on who Governor’s appointments.
The MCAs also want the BBI to revoke a law passed in 2012 but suspended, that requires that MCAs must be degree holders.
Similarly, Governors want a prerequisite demanding that they pick deputies of opposite gender eliminated from the BBI document.
Governors and MCAs to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga over their suggestions and recommendations.
