Detectives arrest a man for publishing misleading and disturbing information on the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country. He is alleged to have posted that the government was not aware of the first case and he exposed it as well as talked about the status of the first case.

Elijah Muthui Kitonyo, 23, was arrested for publishing a viral tweet that alleged to have exposed the first confirmed Covid-19 patient in the country.

The DCI further warned Kenyans against sharing false or misleading information as they could be arrested and prosecuted.

“We urge members of the public to be responsible and to desist from authoring, publishing or sharing unconfirmed information that may cause panic and anxiety,” warned DCI on twitter.
