The Tourism CS Najib Balala has cautioned the opposition over the remarks they made against the IEBC. The CS said that the opposition is scaring away the Tourists.
“The country needs matured politicians who secure other stakeholders interest. We need to follow the rule of law and to wait for whatever the Independent commissions say.” CS Balala said.
“It affects the whole spectrum of the economy,” he added.
“So you mean if there is no election there will be war? Those are the things that are scaring our visitors and investors,” he said during a press conference Tuesday.
The CS said he is worried the country will not achieve the projected 20 percent increase in the tourism sector by December from the 17 percent registered in 2016.
“I’m a bit worried we may not achieve [growth]. Let us tone down so the damage can be minimised,” he said.
“Now we have no investors, self-interest, and tourists. No foreign income apart from debts. We are making the lives of Kenyans hard. Fuel prices are increasing, the Ksh 90 Unga subsidiary is also ending.” He stated.
