Citizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara Matole criticizes the Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko for signing deed transfer agreement while drunk.

Conversing on Citizen TV’s News Gang show she started a couple of months ago, Okwara says in a civilised and democratic country, the governor could have resigned.

She said on News Gang segment on Thursday, August 6.

“In any civilised society, democracy even, he would have resigned from that position all together after making that claim and give up whatever powers he has left with, ” she said.

“It also makes a mockery of the whole process, of his election, of Nairobi residents or our society, for him to make this claim and still be in office. Now, what will his defence be, similar to the pop song ‘Because I Got High?” Yvonne asked.

“Who knows? He may have been high too when he claimed to be high before. To the governor of Nairobi, we say, thanks but no thanks. We can take it from here, we got this,” she concluded.
