A 59-year-old man who is accused of murdering his girlfriend in Zimmerman has turned himself in to police in Nairobi County’s Kasarani neighborhood.
The murder suspect, Wangethi Chege, showed up at the police station on Tuesday and requested that officers go pick up the deceased’s corpse, according to Anthony Mbogo, the head of the Kasarani local police force.
According to the police chief, the suspect said that he met the deceased at a nearby entertainment venue and then brought her to his home.
The police chief said, “Alipokuja akasema walipatana eneo moja la burudani hapa Zimmerman.”
Then he claimed that the deceased had become a ghost and that he had stabbed her repeatedly in the head and back.
In addition, he said, “Alisema ule dada aligeuka akakuwa kama ghost, ama zimwi na likaanza kufanya ni kama linamkula, lakini sisi tuliona ni kama tu anajitetea.”
The deceased’s corpse has been moved to the city mortuary in the interim while the event is still being investigated.
Police officials found two knives that they think the suspect used to perform the crime at the same moment.
In addition, the suspect has been safely detained pending his arraignment.
