Recent developments have hit the Office of the Auditor General with misuse of office and mismanagement of resources.
An anonymous source has expressed worries regarding the transparency of the recruitment process for the position of Audit Associate II at the Office of the Auditor General (OAG).
According to the source who participated in the interviews last year, there were purported discrepancies in the handling of the recruitment process, leading to doubts about its fairness and integrity.
“Last year, we went to the Office of the Auditor General to interview for the position of Audit Associate II. There were 80 posts, according to their advertisement,” sources told Cyprian Nyakundi.
“The first interview entailed written tests, which we did at Kenyatta University, and the second was oral at their HQ anniversary.”
“Even after conducting those interviews separately, with some participants travelling from distant locations and using their own funds for facilitation, we have yet to receive any feedback on the same.”
“We recently learned that over 80 people have already reported for work, despite allegations or rumours to the contrary. My question is, if the OAG office can’t be transparent in their recruitment because we believe it’s mandated to audit other government entities, are we really safe in this country?
“I suppose that’s why corruption and scandals are coming to light everywhere.”
“OAG should post the list of newly appointed Audit Associate IIs. We need to confirm their accountability.”
