The Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai says anybody that will be found without a mask will be jailed. He added that more tough measures will be put in place to curb the spread of the virus.
However, the government says facemasks and Sanitizers will be distributed in various centers in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Boda-Boda rider in Migori has resorted to using his wifes’ bra as a mask to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The bodaboda rider says he cannot afford to use Sh 100 every day to buy masks as his job is too low for other expenses.
” I used to get Sh 500-Sh1000 every day to feed my family of four children. Now the much I get is Sh 300. I cannot take that amount and buy sanitizer and Mask every day. So I decided to take this bra. It lasts for long as only my wife washes it and use it the following day, ” he added.
