Police in Kakamega in trouble as residents hurl teargas canisters during Curfew hours
Police in Kakamega run teargas canisters hurled on them during curfew hours.

Kakamega Police in trouble after residents possess Teargas canisters. The residents use the canisters against the Police during curfew hours. Police, however, warn those in possession to surrender them.

It is said the teargas canisters that the locals own were stolen at an unknown station. However, the Police are investigating the source.

The areas listed as ones where teargas canisters were thrown but did not explode include: Maraba and Sichirayi, said Township Sub-Location Assistant Chief Isaac Ayumba.

It is reported that the youth have been throwing the teargas canisters at police officers who enforce the dusk-to-dawn curfew.

Kakamega Central OCPD David Kabena says should those in possession of the teargas canisters fail to surrender them voluntarily, they (police) will launch a crackdown.
