Hon Raila Odinga and the governor of Kilifi county Hon Amason Kingi today visited the drought prone areas in Kaloleni sub-county, Kilifi. The CORD team in the region led by Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho accompanied the leader.
Hon Odinga visited Mwabaya Nyundo, Mwanamwinga and Mtsengo and later went to Marereni, the home of the Governor Kingi.
The Kilifi county looting scheme revived in the rallies and he urged President Kenyatta to copy the strategies Kingi used in dealing with corruption. At the first stage in Mwanamwinga ward in Kaloleni,Odinga said, “A leaf from Kilifi County could also help the President and his team get to the bottom of the scams like NYS and Eurobond that are making Kenyans lose faith in government.”
The fierce former prime Minister also added the ways that the county government did and said,” H. E Governor Kingi not only publicly published the names of those implicated but dismissed them and followed up with letters to the CID and EACC for appropriate action. Kenyans are sick and disgusted to see able, healthy and rich relatives, friends and associates of the president arrogantly declare that they are underprivileged and disabled and had a right to benefit from programs created for the youth, underprivileged women and the disabled while real deserving cases go home empty handed.”
Hon Odinga was with Kilifi and Mombasa county women representatives Aisha Jumwa and Mishi Mboko respectively. Kisauni, Malindi,Magarini and Kaloleni Members of parliament also accompanied Odinga in the drought tour in Kilifi. The tour was an encounter of what Dep. President did last week in the coast region.
