The Government of Kenya officially writes to the FORD Foundation, demanding accountability reports on 752 million in funding to Kenyan organisations between April 2023 and May 2024. Among the organisations are Africa Uncensored, Transparency International Kenya, Mzalendo Trust, and KNHRC.
Non-state agencies received the funds, and the government is interested in understanding the motivations behind the transactions with the empowered social initiatives.
The Ford Foundation, on the other hand, has revealed its government sponsorship. Netizens now want the Ford Foundation to publish what they have done for the government, not limit it to five organizations.
“If the government is genuine, ask them to also list the foundation’s support to the executive, Parliament, and judiciary, both in cash and kind.”
“All three individuals accused of violating the constitution have reaped benefits.” Netizens demanded that the Ford Foundation reveal conclusively not only five organisations but more.
Africa Uncensored is the most sought-after title on this list. The government is still salty about the fertiliser exposé, but they have found an avenue to have John Allan Namu open his books. Whistleblowers should be protected. The government wants Allan Namu to expose those who gave him the information,” sources claim.
