Officers from the Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) raided several bars and entertainment venues late at night, causing losses.
On Saturday, June 27, the raid targeted entertainment venues located throughout the capital city.
A statement from the Nairobi County government stated that the raid aimed to apprehend lawbreakers, including establishments without the required licences.
According to reports, the raided joints violated county rules and engaged in noise pollution.
Consequently, the county officers issued closure notices to the establishments, including Mnazini Bar and Restaurant along Limuru Road and Rosslyn Total Petrol Station.
Officers from the Nairobi City County Government also raided several alleged noisy establishments at Harlequins at the same time.

In May, the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) announced a nationwide crackdown on bars and liquor joints around schools to ensure the wellbeing of children.
“NACADA hereby announces a nationwide crackdown aimed at enforcing regulations regarding the placement of bars and other alcohol dispensing outlets in proximity to educational institutions or areas catering to individuals below the age of eighteen,” stated the authority.
The Nairobi County government established new rules and regulations that these establishments must follow.
Sakaja has announced that they will establish nightclubs in zones that are predominantly commercial nodes with minimal residential developments.
In addition, Sakaja appointed eight people to the Nairobi City County Alcoholic Drinks Control Licensing Board.
Moreover, in a gazette notice dated March 1, Sakaja charged the eight to serve as board and sub-county liquor board committee members for a period of three years.
