Several Mombasa MCAs contract COVID-19 as the assembly closed for two weeks

Mombasa County Assembly suspends sessions for two weeks after four members and three staffers reportedly tested positive of the naval virus.

Mombasa Members of County Assembly (MCAs) closed after it surfaced that several members had contracted the virus.

The Assembly Deputy Speaker Fadhili Makarani confirmed the incident saying the speaker will officially communicate.

Makarani further stated that all MCAs are undergoing self-isolation for the two weeks as well as house fumigation.

The move comes as cases of confirmed positive COVID-19 infections in Mombasa continue to rise in a trend that is causing increased anxiety.
