Police in Mombasa handling Coronavirus infection |
Fighting Coronavirus with Teargas is multiplying rather than containing it. Kenyans now want the government to help in terms of providing basic needs.
” The government should come with a way of containing the virus. I’m not happy with the method that is being used. You want commuters to crowd outside the ferry but have social distancing inside the ferry. I’m not happy with the situation, ” Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho said.
” Teargas makes people sneeze, cough and shed tears. People will now be touching their eyes, mouth and noses due to the irritation caused by the Teargas. Imagine if we have an infected person in that crowd that was pilled up by the police at Mombasa Likoni Ferry that means even the Police officers are in danger, ” Mr Sam Kitiki posted online.
This is so uncalled for and inappropriate. Those using the Likoni crossing channel are our fellow human beings. Why subject them to such atrocities? @ODPP_KE @NPSOfficial_KE @MOH_Kenya @StateHouseKenya https://t.co/9Zc4NNyFhd— Governor Hassan Joho (@HassanAliJoho) March 27, 2020
Every law/directive is meant to cure a particular mischief. The curfew is meant to curb the spread of COVID19¬ to torture Kenyans. The security managers are behaving as though they have a grudge against Kenyans&are using COVID19 as an excuse to revenge. It must stop forthwith— KIPCHUMBA MURKOMEN, E.G.H (@kipmurkomen) March 27, 2020
The security agencies should understand that what our people need is help not punishment. #LikoniFerry#COVID19KE #CurfewinKenya pic.twitter.com/2KFCwh6oAk— Governor Hassan Joho (@HassanAliJoho) March 27, 2020
