After axing Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika from Jubilee leadership in the Senate, President Uhuru Kenyatta has begun the removal of five nominated senators from the House.

Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju confirmed that the party had identified some MPs who will be removed in the coming months. They urge the residents in the constituencies that will be mapped to collaborate in taking signatures.

“It’s not going to be business as usual. We are soon going to release their names,” a confident Tuju said.

” Those who have been insulting the President would be among the casualties,”

” Those who voted against the Presidents wish at the statehouse meeting and in the parliament will all face the axe,”Tuju added.

Although provided for in law, the recall process is tiresome and has never succeeded since the enactment of the 2010 Constitution.

Sections 45 and 46 of the Elections Act require that those seeking to recall an MP get the support of at least 30 per cent registered voters in the constituency in addition to 15 per cent in every ward.

Gatundu South MP Kuria, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Kikuyu’s Kimani Ichung’wa among others considered to be President’s vocal critics.

“If there will be any bloodshed in Kenya during your leadership or in the coming election, ICC is watching and you will be one of those going back to The Hague and you will never come back,” Ngunjiri told Uhuru recently, in a blistering attack.

“We will follow due process and shall not make the mistakes that ODM and ANC made. So this is a warning shot to the senators and Members of Parliament, they should not take any comfort,” Tuju stated.

Tuju disclosed that the five senators will be summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee headed by Lumateti Muchai soon.
