Mr Geoffrey Sang in meeting |
Mr Geoffrey Sang, the Water Harvesting Authority acting CEO was on Tuesday, Apil 28, sacked for involving himself in the Ksh231 million Nakuetum Peace Dam scandal.
Mr Sang was detained by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and is facing corruption charges.
He was sacked following a Zoom meeting chaired by board chairman Erick Okeyo who noted that the board made a unanimous resolution to revoke Sang’s appointment.
He was replaced by Sharon Obonyo, the authority’s Chief Legal Affairs Officer, who takes over in the same acting capacity.
“We sought the permission of the Cabinet Secretary and were allowed to hold a special meeting which resolved that his appointment be revoked. We have appointed an acting CEO for now,” stated Okeyo.
