Coalition for reforms and democracy cord(CORD) party leaders were frustrated by the actions of the independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) in the Okoa Kenya referendum campaign. The campaign has been back and forth seeking the validation of the signatures till now. The independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) has rejected the signatures of the registered voters said that they were fake and need to be redone and submit for the process to start afresh.
Speaking at the Kibera, the Machakos furious senator hon. Johnstone Muthama explained what they will do at the IEBC offices. “They have been taking the coalition for granted as they keep on postponing meetings,” said the senator. In that rally Siaya Senator and a lawyer hon. James Orengo added that they will make sure if the commission will be the same then no elections will be done. They said this in a Kibera rally for the post-election violence victims who have not received any penny since it happened.
“Same Commisioners until 2017 then there will be no elections.” Siaya Senator said.
Kibera was also affected and is one of the hottest and finishing for the coalition for reform and democracy. Kibera went back to its former state after the former prime minister Raila Odinga left the members of the parliament seat. The government has been seen to neglect some of the CORD strongholds in Nairobi. Although Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero has really tried in terms of cleaning and make Nairobi a better City in Africa the government has been looking forward to finishing his success for the coming general elections.
The IEBC and CORD officials have been engaging in words about the referendum campaign. The chairman of the electoral body Mr. Isaac Hassan has been real quiet about the whole matter of the OKOA KENYA and PESA MASHINANI campaigns that rendered Bomet Governor Hon. Isaac Ruto kicked out of the council of the governors as the chairman.
The furious Senator claimed that all the campaigns against the constitution will be done whether the commission will see it worthy or not. He also said, “we will camp at the offices with milk, bread, soda and Ugali till we see the real outcome or else we kick them out. It does not matter for how we will be at the office, either a day, a week or even a month until we see them out of the office.” The OKOA KENYA and the PESA MASHINANI refrendum campaigns have been placed under the board and the commission is preparing for the fouth coming general elections.
