After the remarks from President Uhuru Kenyatta that Siaya has only 10 ICU beds, the county government of Siaya has acknowledged the improvement.
Governor Cornel Rasanga says that the county has increased the bed capacity from one to ten.
The governor says when he got to the county in 2013, the referral hospital had only one bed and through his leadership, they have improved the hospital and now they have ten.
In other words, they have been an ICU bed every year since his inception in 2013.
“When I was elected as Siaya Governor in 2013, the county of Siaya had only 3 ICU beds. Now we have 10 beds. That is an improvement considering the difficulties we’ve been having” Governor Rasanga said.
