Deputy President William Ruto with his brigade is still pushing for consensus towards the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI).

Tangatanga legislatures are now looking forward to a window to amend the amended document to provide more suggestions to the report.

“We recommend that resources allocated to BBI issues be re-directed to COVID-19 recovery measures… We will be asking for clear directions on issues of land and historical injustices, ” MP Aden Duale stated.

Aden Duale added, ”  A multiple-choice referendum is more appropriate… It is legitimate to question the wisdom of spending 14B on referendum a year before an election… We propose to hold a referendum along with the general elections in 2022. “

“Several issues raised are yet to be conclusively addressed – Accountability for all govt organs, the proposal of judicial ombudsman We submit that there is still room for the review of the appointment of an ombudsman by the CJ or JSC rather than appointment by Executive, ” Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok stated.

Senator Susan Kihika added to the statements saying, ” In its original iteration, the BBI was intended to promote unity and settle the problem of divisive and violent electoral competition and ensure equity in resource distribution…along the way, it became the focal point for constitutional changes,”
