Kisii residents now ask their Governor James Ongwae to showcase the city where he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a Chinese firm; Boleyn Magic Wall Panel to allow the firm invest Sh 12 billion to build Kisii New City in 2016.
In the project, the Chinese company was to transform Kisii town into a Megacity and modern destination in the great lakes after Kisumu.
Boleyn Magic Wall Panel Limited was to construct 2,000 units of houses to meet the housing demand for public servants and the general public in Kisii County.
“I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a Chinese firm; Boleyn Magic Wall Panel to enable the firm to invest Sh 12 billion to build Kisii New City. This succeeds the inaugural Kisii Entrepreneurship Summit, KES 2016, ” Governor James Ongwae said on 8th March 2016.
“In the project, Boleyn Magic Wall Panel Limited will build 2,000 units of houses to fit the housing market for public servants and the general public in Kisii County.
“The New City will constitute of residence, bank buildings, office buildings, shopping mall, kindergarten, schools and a health centre as well as a city hall.
“Boleyn Magic’s Managing Director Jack Liu signed the MoU on behalf of the firm. The firm will set up one pre-cast plant in Kisii County, train 1,000 youths and women for employment in the first year. The plant will serve 13 Counties in the Lake Region Economic Bloc, ” he added.
