Patients in Thika slam Kiambu Governor over faulty X-Rays

Patients in Thika are grappling with a severe disruption in medical services as the X-ray machine at Thika Level 5 Hospital has been non-operational for several weeks.

The malfunction has left many seeking crucial diagnostic services outside the facility, causing frustration and delays.

Many patients and their families have expressed their distress over the lack of functioning X-ray services.

“I brought my child here late at night, hoping to get an X-ray done urgently, but was told the machine is broken. We had to rush to a far-away, expensive private facility.

“We don’t have the means to keep going to private hospitals. It’s a huge burden, especially for people who depend on public health services,” another patient lamented, noting the impact on those with limited resources.

The lack of communication from the hospital administration regarding the expected timeline for repairs compounds the issue.

“We have called on Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s office to address this urgent issue.”

People on social media condemned the county for negligence.

“When patients must seek basic diagnostics elsewhere at a cost they cannot afford, how can a hospital claim to serve its people?” asked Bernard on X. Bernard said on X.

“I find it difficult to comprehend the inclination of these elected leaders to engage in deceptive tactics regarding vital issues such as healthcare.”

“They seem to forget that they need the same electorates to retain the same positions come the next elections. So sad!!” @makofi254 said on X.
