Bamba residents cry as cruel camel herders invade their land

The conflict between Camel herders and the residents of Bamba Ward, Ganze Constituency, continues to cause havoc, with the government remaining silent while the natives face injustice from visitors.

On Monday, camel herders in the area attacked Pastor Julius of Bamba Midoina Soul Harvest Church. People took him to the hospital for emergency medication.

Two cases follow, in which herdsmen attacked a young Julius Jumaa from Goshi (Bamba) at the Renji dam, located in the middle of Giriama ranch. His back was badly injured, and he was hospitalised several times.

Kadzo Mwalimu, a mother, lost her life in the Muryachakwe SOKOKE ward after herdsmen attacked her. This mother left a three-month-old baby.

Leaders who attended her funeral at Mrima Wa Ndege promised to fix the problem; however, things have remained the same, even more deteriorated.

Just the other day, Tsavo Trust employees captured three young men from Ndarako (Bamba) and imprisoned them in VOI, an organisation that has contributed to the overpopulation of free elephants in Ganze Constituency and charges anyone who opposes it with ivory trafficking.

Among the numerous challenges confronting the community in Ganze, the issue of security has consistently declined.

The residents now plead with the national government, from assistant chiefs to regional commissioners, KWS, KFS, MP, governor, and speaker of the county assembly, among others, to intervene in the ongoing row between the villagers and Camel herdsmen alleged to be from north-eastern regions.

Mother and joyful journalist.
