Tharaka MP George Gitonga Murugara hands cabbages to his constituents in a bid to fight the hunger affecting them. Hunger has struck DP President Kithure Kindiki’s constituency, prompting the area legislator to distribute relief food to his people.
The Tharaka MP, George Gitonga Murugara, had to order several vehicles with cabbage to distribute to the people to mitigate hunger.
In a video from the beneficiaries, the area MP stated that the Government of Kenya plans to restore normalcy, with food security being a priority in the bottom-up regime.
“We are planning to introduce irrigation in the lower Athi that will benefit many people in the area. While distributing cabbages, the MP addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of food security in eradicating poverty.
As hunger ravages Tharaka Nithi County as a whole, each constituent received one cabbage.
People on social media were unyielding in their support of the initiative to distribute cabbage to each constituent as a measure to mitigate hunger.
