Boasting on brands like Flexicash, Bestcash, Mtaa Cash, and Zuri Cash, the Whitepath mobile lending platform falls again on Blackpath with data protection violations. The well-known loan company Whitepath is in trouble again because it is accused of not protecting customers’ private information.
This new issue has made many customers worried, especially since they have had problems with the company before.
Recent news says that Whitepath and its brands Flexicash, Bestcash, and Mtaa Cash, which fall under the Zuri Cash name, are still sending unwanted messages to people’s phone contacts.
Some people say that these messages are being sent to friends and family who did not agree to be guarantors for any loans. This might be because of a mistake in their system.
This is not the first time Whitepath has acted this way. In 2023, the company was fined Ksh 5 million by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) after almost 150 customers complained.
They said the company was using their phone contacts for business without asking for permission.
It is unclear if Whitepath and its brands will face more penalties for ignoring customer privacy.
One client told blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, saying, “I want to tell you about Flexicash, Bestcash, and Mtaa Cash, which are all operated by Whitepath. They recently sent messages to my contacts, including some people who did not agree to help with my loan. This happened even after I made a partial payment.”
