Jimmy Mponda, also known as Jimmy Master, is a very talented and dangerous person in the film industry. He is a producer, director, story writer, and actor. Jimmy Mponda, Gabriel Mtitu, and Mussa Banzi are among the first top Bongo film producers, but where are they?
He started working in films in 1994 and has made many popular movies such as “Shamba Kubwa” in 1994, “Unga Adui” in 1995, “Kifo Haram” in 1997, “USIA” in 2003, “Misukosuko” in 2005, “Double J” in 2012, and “The Foundation” in 2017.
In 2005, Jimmy Master became famous after he released his fifth movie called “Misukosuko.” In this film, he worked with Sebastian Mwanangulo, who became well-known as “Inspector Seba.” The movie also gave birth to the character “J Plus.”
“Misukosuko” gained a lot of attention in Tanzania. Fans were divided between those who supported “J Plus” and those who supported “Inspector Seba” because of their rivalry in the movie.
After the first part ended, people wanted a second part, and then a third part after that.
The movie has a great story that keeps people awake while watching. It shows characters, which is not something you often see in Bongo films that are made in more than one place.
Jimmy Mponda has inspired many people to work in movies, especially in action roles. However, despite his contributions, no media has come to interview him or give him any awards.
Gabriel Mtitu, also known as MTITU. G. GAME, is another important person in the Tanzanian film industry.
Even though many Tanzanian films have touched the hearts of the audience, not much is said about Mtitu Game. He helped produce many great “Bongo” films in the past.
Through his company, he supported artists like the late Steven Kanumba, Ray, Johari, and Irene Uwoya.
About 70 to 80 percent of Kanumba’s movies were directed and produced by Mtitu. Films like “Johari,” “Oprah,” and “Magic House” were made by him. Still, fans rarely see anyone interviewing Mtitu Game.
It is important to recognize his contributions. Other significant figures in Bongo movies who also deserve appreciation are Mussa Banzi and July Tax.
