Harvey Specter, a charming and clever lawyer from the popular TV show Suits, is back on television! Actor Gabriel Macht played the role again in the fourth episode of the new series Suits LA, which aired on Sunday, March 16. This was the first time fans saw Specter since the original show ended in 2019.
The episode is called “Batman Returns,” and it had fans very excited as Specter finally made an appearance.
In a sneak peek released after the previous episode, we see Specter meeting Ted Black (played by Stephen Amell) in a tense scene at a bar, shown as a flashback.
As expected, Harvey takes control by ordering three glasses of Macallan 25, a type of whiskey, instead of the beer that Ted ordered. He then says a memorable line: “Do you want to play with me, or against me?” This hints at a history between the two characters that dates back to when they were prosecutors in New York, something that had been hinted at before through a picture on Ted’s desk.
Gabriel Macht has played Harvey Specter in all nine seasons of Suits, and he will return for three episodes in this new series. The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, called Macht’s return a “blessing” for Suits LA.
Macht mentioned in an interview that he decided to come back because fans wanted to see him again, not just for his own sake, saying, “I’ve done it 134 times. This is for the fans.”
The title of the episode is a fun reference to the friendship Specter had with another character, Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams), and it also shows why his friendship with Ted is important to longtime fans.
After the teaser was released, many fans were thrilled and called Specter’s return “the comeback we’ve all been waiting for.” Some praised Macht for still having the same charm as before.
One fan commented, “Harvey Specter just walked in and owned Suits LA in 30 seconds,” reflecting a common feeling among viewers. However, some fans felt frustrated that they had to wait until the fourth episode for his return.
Suits LA is still finding its own style apart from the original show, but Harvey’s arrival connects it to the legacy of Suits.
Sources close to production shared that Harvey’s storyline will look into his past with Ted, revealing more about their competitive yet supportive relationship.
Additionally, NBC has said that more former Suits characters may join the show, with Rick Hoffman’s Louis Litt set to make a guest appearance later this season, though he won’t be in the same episode as Macht, disappointing some fans.
As Suits LA gains viewers, Harvey Specter’s return has brought new energy to the show. It’s clear that even after six years, his strong presence still makes a big impact.
Whether his return will help the new series become as popular as the original remains to be seen, but for now, fans are enjoying the comeback of their favourite character.
