Babu Owino, the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, has received another important award for his leadership.
He has been named the best-performing MP in Kenya by a research company called Politrack Africa.
After getting the award, he expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “A big thank you to the great people of the Embakasi East Republic. May God bless Kenyans.”
This is the second time recently that Mr. Owino has received special recognition.
In February, he was also named the top MP in Kenya by another organisation called Infotrak.
The Infotrak survey, which is part of the Countrytrak Performance Index 2024, ranked Mr. Owino with a score of 72%.
The survey covered all 47 counties, 290 constituencies, and 1,450 wards and involved 39,795 people.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was just behind Mr. Owino, earning a 71% rating. Two other MPs, Joseph Kalasinga from Kabuchai and Robert Mbui from Kathiani, tied for third place with scores of 62%.
Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), John Waluke (Sirisia), Peter Salasya (Mumias East), and Erastus Nzioka (Mbooni) came in the top five, each with a score of 61%.
