Barcelona’s Dani Olmo Back, Balde Suffers Hamstring Injury

FC Barcelona got some good news with Dani Olmo back in team training. The club says he can play again starting next week.

But there is some bad news too. Alejandro Balde, who plays as a left-back, has hurt his right hamstring.

Dani Olmo, who is 26 years old, has been out since early March because of a small calf injury, but he trained fully again on Sunday.

Fans hope he can play in the next La Liga game against Celta Vigo or in the important Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

“Dani is feeling good and ready to help the team,” said manager Hansi Flick in a press conference.

Olmo’s return is important because he has four goals and three assists this season, which helps Barcelona’s chances of winning the title.

On the other hand, Balde felt pain while playing in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Leganes. Medical tests showed he has a strain in his right hamstring.

It may take up to three weeks for him to recover, which is not good for Barcelona’s defence. “It’s sad news, but we believe Alejandro will come back even stronger,” Flick added.

Fans are feeling mixed emotions. They are happy about Olmo returning but worried about Balde.

“Olmo’s magic is back, but Balde’s injury is tough,” one fan said. With João Cancelo and Julián Araújo available to play left-back, Flick has some important decisions to make soon.

As Barcelona keeps its unbeaten run in 2025, having Olmo back could be very important, but missing Balde will be a challenge for the team.
