Arrest Warrants Issued for Valley Road Motors Owner Over Ksh 6.5M Fraud

A court in Nairobi has issued arrest orders for Francis Mundia, a well-known car dealer and owner of Valley Road Motors, and his son, Brandon Ng’ang’a.

They did not come to court to face charges about the alleged theft of an expensive car worth Ksh 6.5 million.

The judge at the Makadara Law Courts, Gilbert Shikwe, gave the orders on Wednesday after Mundia, his son, and another person, Robert Mugaa Bundo, missed their scheduled court hearing.

The three are accused of working together to steal a red Mercedes-Benz car, with the registration number KDS 724T, which belongs to a man named Andrew Kiarie.

According to court documents, the theft happened on February 20, 2025, in Dandora, Kamukunji Sub-county.

The charges against them include conspiracy to commit a crime and stealing a vehicle.

Even though they were released earlier after paying bail to the police, none of the accused showed up in court.

The next court date is set for June 26, 2025, but the police have permission to arrest and bring them to court before then if they find them.

However, more sources claim the vehicle in question Mercedes-Benz E350 was brought to Valley Road Motors by a notorious broker in Nairobi dealership, one Robert Mugaa Bundi who operates briefcase companies Silverstar Motors and Ultra East Africa Trading Ltd and was selling it on behalf of the owner, one Peter Munene Njoroge, and not Andrew Kiarie as Nyakundi alleges.

The agreed price was ksh 4.1m as shown in the sale agreement between Ultra East Africa trading limited and Valley Road motors. The money was paid in different forms;

  • Ksh 3,320,000 via pesalink as attached
  • Bank transfer of ksh 500,000 to Silverstar motors
  • Ksh 150,000 via Mpesa to Robert Bundi number
  • Ksh 130,000 given in cash form to Bundi

All these transactions were done on 20th and 21st of March 2025 and add up to ksh 4.1m as the agreement dictated.

However, Robert Bundi, being a notorious broker with several cases of swindling his client’s money, didn’t pay the owner of the vehicle, Peter Munene, thus the dispute erupted.

Those who know Francis Ng’ang’a know him as a trustworthy dealer who, for many years, has served his clientele with utmost honesty and trust.

More sources claim that blogger Nyakundi intentionally refused to report that Valley Road Motors, after realising this, returned the vehicle to Peter Munene Njoroge and that they will institute charges against one Robert Mugaa Bundi.

Bundi is not new to such controversies; in April, he had a similar case with Alvis Motors and was arrested and charged.
