Galatasaray Poised to Secure Leroy Sané Deal

Galatasaray are increasingly optimistic about finalizing a sensational transfer for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané, with club officials confident of securing the German star’s signature in the coming days.

According to sources close to the Turkish champions, negotiations are well underway, and the Galatasaray board, led by President Dursun Özbek, believes they are on the verge of receiving the green light from the 29-year-old to join the Süper Lig giants.

The move, if completed, would mark one of the most high-profile signings in Turkish football history.

Sané, whose contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire on June 30, has been a prime target for Galatasaray, who have aggressively pursued the former Manchester City star.

Reports indicate that the club submitted a lucrative written offer worth over €10 million net per year, significantly outpacing Bayern’s latest contract extension proposal of €15.5 million gross annually.

The Turkish side’s financial package, coupled with their ambitious project to compete in the UEFA Champions League, has reportedly impressed Sané, who is said to have been “blown away” by the atmosphere at Nef Stadium during a 2023 Champions League match.

Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk, a long-time admirer of Sané, has been a driving force behind the transfer push, personally advocating for the winger’s acquisition.

The club’s recent efforts, including phone calls, meetings, and detailed contract discussions, have positioned them ahead of rivals, including Fenerbahçe and Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, who recently entered the race with a substantial offer.

Arsenal, previously considered a frontrunner, have reportedly asked Sané to delay his decision, but Galatasaray’s persistent engagement has given them the edge.

The Yellow-Reds view Sané as a cornerstone of their squad rebuild, alongside their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is also in talks for a permanent move from Napoli.

The potential arrival of Sané, a versatile attacker with 66 caps for Germany and a proven track record in the Premier League and Bundesliga, would signal Galatasaray’s intent to challenge Europe’s elite.

Sources suggest that Sané’s decision could come soon, with the player eager to resolve his future before Bayern’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign begins.
