I had believed that my marriage was ideal. In public, my husband was affable, prosperous, and perceptive. We appeared to be a power couple to outsiders. However, something didn’t feel quite right on the inside. I would catch him lingering around our housemaid. He would chuckle and brush off my worries, accusing me of being jealous or neurotic.
