The Kenyan TikTok community is reeling from the sudden death of beloved content creator Milcah Nyatuga Murang’a, popularly known as Milly Wa Doc, who passed away on Monday, June 3, 2025, at PHG Hospital in Nakuru.
The 32-year-old mother of two, who amassed nearly 400,000 followers with her vibrant videos, succumbed to acute kidney failure following a brief but severe illness, according to her family.
However, unsettling allegations and cryptic videos from Milly’s past have sparked widespread speculation about the true circumstances of her death, leaving fans and followers searching for answers.
Milly, a Nakuru-based influencer known for her candid storytelling and infectious energy, recently shared glimpses of a challenging life marked by personal struggles and resilience.
Her aunt, Monica, revealed during an emotional family meeting streamed live on TikTok that Milly’s health took a sharp decline after surgery to remove a cyst in her abdomen. Despite a dialysis session offering brief hope, her kidneys failed rapidly, leading to her untimely death just a month after her April 2025 wedding to her husband, Odeke.
“She fought so hard, but it was too much,” Monica said, her voice breaking as she recounted Milly’s final days.
Yet, the official cause of death has done little to quell rumours circulating online. Milly’s past revelations about her troubled relationship with her ex-husband, a clinical doctor known as “Daddy” or Zac, have fuelled suspicion.
In emotional TikTok videos, Milly accused him of narcissism, emotional abuse, and even inappropriate behaviour toward her stepdaughter.
She claimed he had threatened her life, with one chilling video resurfacing where she predicted she wouldn’t live past December 2025. “If anything happens to me, you know who to look at?” she said tearfully, pointing to her ex.
Netizens have amplified these concerns, with some users alleging that Milly’s death may be linked to her ex-husband’s actions, including unverified claims of an incomplete abortion or harmful medical interventions.
Milly’s life was a testament to overcoming hardship. Raised in a family of eight, she faced poverty and the loss of her alcoholic mother, forcing her to drop out of school and survive on the streets.
In a resurfaced interview with tuko.co.ke, she shared how a Mzungu man rescued her, offering marriage and education in Germany before she returned to Kenya to rebuild her life.
Her relatable content, from cosy cooking videos to raw reflections on her past, endeared her to fans who saw her as a beacon of authenticity.
Her death has left a void, particularly for her two young children, including her eldest son, Brian, who was visibly heartbroken during the family’s TikTok live.
Milly also did this video way before she passed on. It seems she was in bad state.

Milly’s final message to him, “May Almighty protect you,” has moved Kenyans to tears, with many rallying to support a fundraiser for her Sh 195,000 rent arrears and KSh 393,435 hospital bill, which was covered by SHA. Her family has called for contributions to give her a “befitting send-off”, with Brian as the custodian of funds.
As tributes pour in, the TikTok community mourns a woman who turned pain into purpose. Carolyne DeMathew, wife of Mugithi singer John DeMathew, shared a poignant message online: “Love hurts, but Milly’s light will live on.”
Fans echo this sentiment, with one writing, “She was a fighter, a mother, a creator—gone too soon.”
