Agradaa’s Brother Locks Out Husband Amid Property Dispute Drama

The family of jailed Ghanaian televangelist Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, is embroiled in a heated property dispute following her 15-year prison sentence for charlatanic advertisement and fraud.

Reports indicate that Agradaa’s brother, known as “1 Gig”, allegedly locked her husband, Angel Asiamah, out of their matrimonial home, sparking widespread speculation about his motives.

While the reasons behind 1 Gig’s actions remain unclear, insiders suggest the move may stem from a struggle for control over Agradaa’s properties or deep-seated family disputes.

The controversy has ignited online debates, with netizens questioning the stability of Agradaa’s household and Asiamah’s role in leading her Heaven Way Champion International Ministry at Weija Junction during her absence.

On July 3, 2025, an Accra Circuit Court sentenced Agradaa to 15 years in prison with hard labour for defrauding congregants through a “money-doubling” scheme.

Following the verdict, tensions within her family escalated. During a church service on July 5, Asiamah claimed that 1 Gig had barred him from their residence, an action that Agradaa’s parents condemned as disrespectful.

“You were never on good terms with Agradaa while she was free,” her father stated, accusing 1 Gig of exploiting his sister’s incarceration to seize control of her assets.

Agradaa’s mother echoed this sentiment, urging 1 Gig to apologise, saying, “How can you tell him to leave their home? Where do you expect him to go?”

1 Gig, however, has denied these allegations, taking to social media to challenge Asiamah to produce CCTV footage proving the eviction. “I haven’t even been to the church premises,” he said in a viral video, emphasising that he respects Asiamah as his brother-in-law and would not disrupt Agradaa’s properties, including her TV station where employees earn their livelihood.

He urged the family to unite in support of Agradaa’s legal battle rather than fuel division. “This is the time the family should stay united,” 1 Gig stated, dismissing the claims as fabrications.

The motive behind 1 Gig’s alleged actions has sparked intense speculation. Some believe the dispute centres on Agradaa’s valuable properties, including her residence and media assets, while others point to longstanding family tensions.

1. Gig and Agradaa have a history of conflict, with reports of public insults and his departure from her church due to disagreements.

His disapproval of Agradaa’s marriage to Asiamah, whom he accused of exploiting, adds further complexity to the saga. Social media posts reflect mixed sentiments, with some users supporting 1 Gig’s denial, while others call the family drama a “plot twist no one saw coming”.

The controversy raises questions about the future of Agradaa’s ministry and household. Asiamah has taken charge of church services since her sentencing, but his leadership is now under scrutiny amid the alleged eviction.

Netizens are debating whether he can maintain control of the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry or if the family disputes will destabilise its operations.

Agradaa’s legal team has dismissed the eviction reports as speculative, with her lawyer stating, “I intend to speak to Mr Asiamah personally and visit my client in custody.”

As Ghanaians await official confirmation, the alleged property dispute adds another layer of drama to Agradaa’s already turbulent story.

The public remains divided, with some calling for unity and others demanding accountability.

With Agradaa’s imprisonment and the ongoing family feud, the future of her legacy hangs in the balance, fuelling discussions about family disputes, property control, and the stability of her church.
